Elder Taye Hailu was called to preach and teach the gospel in January, 1996. Under the leadership of Dr. Carey E. Pointer, Jr., Pastor,Greater Fellowship FGBC, he accepted his call and preached his initial sermon on August 11, 1996. Prior to accepting his call to the ministry, Elder Hailu attended Mount St. Mary’s College, pursuing a degree in Business Administration and Coppin State College, pursuing a degree in Elementary Education. However, because of his desire to pursue a foundational understanding of biblical history, a biblically grounded knowledge of his Savior, Jesus Christ and to better understand his ministry responsibilities, he shifted his focus and enrolled in National Bible College to pursue a degree in Christian Education. Elder Hailu believes and operates on the principle as spoken by the prophet Hosea, “My people perish for the lack of knowledge. . .” (Hosea 4:6) Because of his belief and with the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
